Who is the Marquis of Granby?

The Marquis of Granby Ancient Fyfe and Drum Corps is an all youth corps composed of young men and women between the ages of 9 and 21.  The Marquis (pronounced “mar-kwiss”) is a historical recreation of a military unit of the 18th century, and has maintained historic accuracy with few exceptions.  Founded in 1969 in Granby, Connecticut, the Marquis is among 120 ancient corps registered with the Company of Fifers and Drummers, and one of only 15 corps nationwide with an all youth membership.

The Corps performs in parades and musters throughout the northeastern United States, and has traveled as far afield as England and Switzerland.  We have won numerous awards throughout the years, including Best Ancients, Best Musical Unit and Best Marching Unit.

The Marquis is an all-volunteer-managed, 4-H affiliated organization.  Our operations are funded by performance revenue and donations.  Donations may be mailed to our address or made via Paypal on our website.

Hiring the corps
