What being in the corps means to its members

The Marquis is a place where you can be wholeheartedly yourself and be accepted for who you are. We act as if we are all family, and I couldn't be more appreciative of it.

Rachel Abrahamson

Fyfer, Sergeant Major, Member since 2011

Marquis has played a big role in becoming the person that I am now. They have taught me discipline and how to become a better musician.

Practices

The Marquis of Granby hold practices every Wednesday at First Congregational Church in Granby, CT from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. In this time period, playing line members get an hour of marching practice with the full corps and an hour of music lessons with our instructors. Recruits and flag line members that do not take instrument lessons have an hour of marching practice with the full corps, and then another half-hour of marching practice. Recruits that are taking instrument lessons are pulled out of marching practice for a one-on-one lesson with an instructor. The instructors’ bios are available on the Our Instructors page.
